I’ve received a very interesting email that I would like to share with you. It talks about the “right place”.

I liked because often when we feel lost or not very pleased with the direction of our live, we began to look at other people life’s and we start to believe that it’s much better than ours.

“The day had just dawned and the solitary farmer was weeding the crop. That day would be like so many others: a hard day’s work, from sunup to sundown. He plowed the ground and, at the same time, he started to think about his life and how difficult was his daily struggle to support his family. He sometimes surprised himself by questioning God’s justice, who had chosen him to make this work hard while others were favored with light and pleasant tasks.

The sun was high when he took off his hat and wiped the sweat trickling down his face. Very tired, he leaned his arm on the hoe handle and paused to look around for a while. He could see the road that crossed the plantations and a bus passing by. He immediately thought to himself: ‘the driver must have such a good life! He works seated and he doesn’t make much effort. Leads many people to various destinations, he is protected by rain and sun and still, he can hear some music to entertain’.

Indeed, the driver works seated and he isn’t subject to inclement weather. However, while a car passed by the the bus, the bus driver started to think: ‘this executive must have such a good life! He a big luxury car, has no boss to worry and doesn’t have to spend several days on the road as I do, far from home and family’.

However, just ahead, the executive was thinking about how difficult his life is: he is always concerns, has to make long trips and endless meetings, has to pay taxes and the employees’ wages by the end of the month, needs to make investments and has so many things to solve.

Deep in his thoughts, he looked up and saw a plane crossing the sky. He said as if he was sure ‘this airline pilot must have such a good life! He can travel around the world for free, doesn’t have to face this awful traffic and the wage is rewarding’.

Inside the airplane’s cabin, the pilot was thinking about his own problems: ‘my life is so hard! I spend weeks away from my wife, children and friends; and I’m always concerned with the hundreds of people traveling under my responsibility’.

At this moment, a dark spot on the ground caught his attention. He looked closely and realized it was a man working in the fields. He exclaimed to himself with a certain melancholy: ‘Oh! I would love to be in that man’s place, working quietly in the midst of nature and listening to the bird’s song, having no major concerns, being able to go home at the end of the day to hug his wife and children, have dinner and rest peacefully beside those he loves. He must have such a good life!’ – Autor desconhecido

At the end of the text, the author makes the following quotation: “God knows which is the best place for each of his children, what we need to evolve and what lessons we should learn.” For this reason, we are all in the right place, with the right people.

The “right place” is that one we choose, that one that we mentality built for us, where our history is materialized as well are our ideas and dreams. We must seek and desire only the best, seeing through the eyes of the heart and realizing this “right place” within us, and out there. Your place is within you, in the world you created. The self-questioning, self-knowledge and self-perception makes your place be the best one in the world.

“Living is a great challenge to human intelligence. It’s men’s ability to flourish in the exact place where it was planted”
